Will converting to PNG improve quality?

No. It keeps the current quality exactly, but can't restore detail the JPG already lost. Expect a larger file.

Which format should I use?

JPG for photos you share or upload anywhere. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything that needs transparency or pin-sharp text. WebP or AVIF for websites, where smaller files load faster.

Does converting lose quality?
